Pre Production

In the early stages of planning for the commercial testimonial video project for CG Motors' Electric Van, CG KYC, we were informed by the agency and brand that the shoot would take place in Chitwan. Given the location outside the valley, traditional location scouting wasn't feasible. Instead, we decided to shoot along the route to Chitwan to capture the diverse landscapes and scenes en route. With this plan in mind, we created a rough storyboard to outline the visual narrative and guide our shooting schedule. Additionally, considering the remote location and the need for flexibility, we were informed to keep the production crew limited. Thus, our team comprised only three members: a Director, a Cinematographer, and a Drone Pilot for capturing aerial shots, ensuring a streamlined and efficient production process.

Production

Departing from Kathmandu at 6 am, our small but nimble crew embarked on the journey to Chitwan. The first day was dedicated to capturing rolling shots along the scenic route, making the most of the journey to gather dynamic footage that would enhance the visual storytelling. The second day focused on filming the driver in Chitwan, highlighting his daily chores and showcasing how he earns a living through CG KYC as a public transport option. Despite the limited crew size, we were fully equipped and had planned meticulously, ensuring that we captured all essential shots while making the most of the shooting location and available resources. The production process was smooth, and the team's adaptability and preparation played a crucial role in ensuring the shoot's success.

Post Production

Upon returning to Kathmandu after the two-day shoot, we began working on the post-production phase. With all the footage captured and a clear vision from the storyboard, we delved into the editing process to bring the story of CG KYC to life. The editing phase involved piecing together the footage captured during the journey and in Chitwan, ensuring a cohesive narrative that effectively highlighted the benefits and features of CG KYC while resonating with the brand's messaging. Despite the remote shooting location and the limited crew, the post-production process was efficient, reflecting the thorough planning and preparation that went into the project from the outset. The final result was a compelling testimonial video that not only showcased the product but also told a captivating story of its impact on people's lives.
