Pre Production

For the commercial video project for OKF, a flavored drink company, our story revolved around two contrasting characters: one representing a healthy lifestyle and the other embracing a more carefree, indulgent approach to life. To visually emphasize the transition between these two verses, we designed a DIY rig capable of rotating 180 degrees from left to right. Beginning with a 3D model created in Blender, we meticulously constructed the rig to hold the camera. This unique setup was crucial for achieving seamless transition shots between the "happy verse" and the "healthy verse." With the shoot taking place in a single location, our pre-production efforts were primarily focused on perfecting this rig and preparing essential resources like scripts, storyboards, and mood boards. Having all these elements in place beforehand ensured a smooth production process and effective storytelling.

Production

On the main production day, the crew's call time was set for 6 am to prepare the scene, while the cast arrived at 7:20 am to get ready for their roles. The highlight of the shoot was executing the 180-degree DIY rig that we had developed during pre-production. This rig played a pivotal role in capturing the transition shots between the two contrasting verses, allowing us to visually contrast the characters' perspectives on health and happiness. Despite the technical challenges of operating the rig smoothly and coordinating between the crew and cast, the shoot progressed seamlessly and according to plan. The preparation and planning during pre-production were instrumental in ensuring that the production day ran efficiently, with the team fully equipped to bring our creative vision to life.

Post Production

Post-production focused on refining the footage captured during the shoot and enhancing the storytelling through editing and motion graphics. One of the key tasks was syncing the transition shots between the "happy verse" and "healthy verse" to maintain the narrative flow and contrast between the characters' perspectives. Additionally, we incorporated motion graphics into the video to further establish the characters and add visual interest. This included animated text or graphics that reinforced the themes of health and happiness, enhancing the overall impact of the commercial. While post-production required attention to detail and creative finesse, the solid foundation laid during pre-production ensured that the process was smooth, and the final output effectively communicated OKF's brand message in an engaging and memorable way.
